So it's another week and another color from Luna. She chose Green to go along with the Christmas season (instead of the usual Red) and despite many others having the same idea, I thought of Green as more to do with Springtime and the lush colors of nature.

At least one other blogger, Chic Aeon, had a similar idea to be as she went for a lavish "Green Man/Woman" look. I love the photos but wanted a slightly different look for mine so I went a bit more Nymph.

Green-1

I remembered that Siyu Suen from Illusions had created this beautiful set of vines (which took her months and months to complete) and while I kept staring in awe at the outfit, I also would say to myself that I'd never have a reason to wear it. Well that changed with this week's challenge. ;-)

Green-2

It's beautifully organic, and there's so many darn attachments to choose from that you can change up the vines as you see fit. She has them on sale as both the whole set and as individual pieces in case you can't afford $950L for the whole thing.

Green-3

I hope that for next week (which will be Silver) I don't think of dressing as a car or something. :-P

You don't usually think of pausing during a hack & slash game like Dungeons & Dragons Online to take photos, but I did have a moment recently to just pause and enjoy a beautiful spot before I went back to slaying. ;-)
Winter

Wow I feel like a complete butt every year 'cause I get cards, gifts, and other awesome stuff from a lot of my friends... yet I can't seem to give them something back. Some friend I am, huh? :-/

Then again even IRL I prefer to give out gifts & cards at times when folks less expect it... like Valentine's Day or something. Maybe I'll get off my ass and get folks Valentine's stuff instead. We'll see.

In the meanwhile, enjoy how cold I look in this photo and enjoy the Season for what it's worth. ;-)
I kinda dreaded doing this week's 52 Colour Challenge since I (like most of the others doing this challenge) am not a "Pink Person". Still... I decided to think outside the box and just go for it.

Just like a few of my previous posts, I had a certain style that I thought of when I was thinking up and outfit. In this case, I thought "Burlesque".

Cerise-1

And holy cow this is probably the brightest pink my Avatar has ever worn! I know it's not proper Cerise. In fact the undies from Schadenfreude are more of the 'hot pink' variety, but it still felt perfect to wear for this.

Cerise-2

I also saw a couple of other folks in the challenge digging out some items from stores that are no longer around. In my case I grabbed a cute hairstyle from ETD (who was gone for far too long but we're glad Elika is baaaack!) to finish off this idea.

Cerise-3

It also gave me an excuse to dig out a special Valentine's Day Group Gift Tuli sent out ages ago. If there's any lady who loves pink... it's her. ;-)

Welp here it is... my last photo for the 365 days Blogger Challenge... thing.

It ended up being more like 365 days and 1 extra month due to RL things and some general 'I don't feel like posting tonight' moments. Still.. it has been a blast for the past year+.

I decided to make the last photo from the 4th annual Freak Bash that I've gone to every year since its inception. Even more awesome is that I got to celebrate it with Rykk & Kaedy IRL. On top of that Kaedy and I laughed way too much being in the same room. ;-)

Anyways... Happy Holidays folks and again I hope the new year is much better than the last.
364/365

Holy cow I only have 1 more of these photos to go?

Anyways I decided to do some Holiday freebies this year ('cause I totally blew it and didn't make any last year) and even placed them out at the store instead of being a Grinch and only give them to my Subscriber Group.

I was mostly surprised that folks grabbed both necklaces even though they're made for each gender. I guess they figure they can wear each or something. I had fun making them, and I hope other folks have as much fun wearing them for a whole week before X-mas. :-P

Of course I do place all my ads on my Flickr so they can be posted in other places. I do find it most amusing that each time I place UC in an ad, he gets like twice the views that all the others do. I guess they all like shirtless tanned dudes with dreads and nose chains. :-P

I think with this ad in particular, it's gotta be that hat that LadyStar made... which is pretty kickass and ridiculous at the same time. ;-)
363/365

Even King Kong knows how to celebrate the Holidays in style. ;-)
362/365

Sheesh after yesterday's roller coaster of emotional craziness, I had to simmer down with a little bit of carefree moments... and some Chopin.

Those of you who claim you don't like Classical Music, will like it now.

This vid just makes me smile wide every time I watch it. Benjamin Zander is teh awesome. :-)

To Feel the Pain...

I know there are those
whom have felt so much pain
in their lives, and yet
it cannot seem to go away.

Sometimes the pain completely
overwhelms every essence
of your soul, and yet
you still seem to make it through.

When those whom you love
are the ones who suffer,
you wish somehow you could
make it all go away.

When you can -feel- their turmoil
through your own being,
the agony deep inside
can only build up so far.

Now if only there was a way
for all that pain to be
taken away from them, so that
their torment can end.

I would do that
in an instant, if only
so that those whom I cherish
can be joyful once more.

So Sanctuary Rock was remodeled again. I know that many folks don't like change, but sometimes a place needs to be changed over and over again to keep things from getting too stale. Granted SR's appearance has changed a -lot- even since I started working there 3 and a half years ago, I know some folks do wonder why it changes so much.

Some of it is due to lag issues. Some of it is due to complaints from Staff, Patrons, or Store Owners in the Mall (or all 3). Some of it is due to wanting to cut back on certain things. I don't know that the Sim needed to redone 5 times in 2 years... but it does need a facelift every once in a while.

I already did get one small complaint this morning from a Staff member about the newest layout. Eh.... it's not gonna please everyone. Just how it is. People by nature tend not enjoy drastic change. I'm sure they'll get used to it eventually just like all the past Sim layouts.

At least I got a much better position this time for my shop. ;-)

This was taken at a little get together for Lainey Thorne before she's gonna be away from SL for almost 2 months. She'll be having a very important RL surgery right before Christmas, but at least it forces her afterwards to get some serious RL rest which she greatly deserves after a long year of trials and tribulations.

Hope 2011 will be much better for you, Lainey. We'll all eagerly await your return. <3
So this week and next are 2 colors I generally do not wear very much at -all-... Yellow & Pink (Well okay Cerise which is still a form of Pink, LOL). Despite having a lack of interest in either color, I decided to make the most of it.

Yellow is one of those colors in which either you look amazing in or absolutely hideous in. This counts for both SL and RL due to various skin tones and hair shades. Luckily just like last week, I got a particular type of outfit in my head as soon as I saw the color. I saw... 50's Rockabilly. There's only one place to go for that in SL, IMHO and that's artilleri.

Yellow-1

It only seemed fitting that I not only wear some of Antonia's items for my photos.... but also take the pics right there at her shop. :-D She has plenty more Rockabilly goodness inside if you've never been there (yes for dudes too).

Yellow-2

This outfit was made much faster than I thought considering my lack of yellow inventory items... but it was still incredibly fun to do!

Now where's The Fonz when I need 'im? ;-)

Breaking News!

Sanctuary Rock has been overrun by Reindeer! Film at 11...

Rykk pointed out during his set that today is the anniversary of 2 deaths which hit the world so dramatically. This was not only because they died so young and were a great loss to Music, but also both of their deaths occurred in such a cold blooded way that even today we still are bewildered at why it happened.

Today marks the 30th anniversary of John Lennon's death... and the 6th anniversary of Dimebag Darrell Lance Abbott's. Two musicians separated by time and genre, and yet they had plenty of things in common with each other. They both showed a rebellious side in the forefront, but also they both had a cheerful sense of humor and even an occasional "softer" side which showed through from time to time. More importantly... they both were great influences to the world of Rock n' Roll.

As Rykk also pointed out, the greatest thing about being an artist is that your work lets you live forever. Thank you John and Dimebag for giving us all such amazing gifts.

Fate has a way of doing things that still manage to surprise the heck out of me. While I was driving back from my old house yesterday, I was listening to Hair Nation on Sirius. An old Steve Vai song popped on that literally I had not heard in more than 10 years. I grinned at hearing it as I'd remembered the original music video that went with it as well.

Fast forward to last night during UC's DJ set. Suddenly he plays... the same damn Steve Vai song. "Cosmic" doesn't even begin to explain how randomly awesome that was.

Afterwards I mentioned I'd track down the vid and watch it again (as did he, hehe) and so here it is. Enjoy the crazy guitar licks, the Brooklyn accent of the teacher, and Steve's Vulcan hands. o.0

I had to take a peek at Schadenfreude today just to see some new makeups and such, and I caught next door the remains of the Starlust Hotel. A shame that Allegory had to tear it down, but it's just about as interesting to see the shambles of lumber, fire and pink lawn flamingos scattered everywhere.

It seemed fitting to take a pic as it was perfect corollary to my RL this morning. I had a RL job interview (which went very well, btw) and the office just happened to be 3 blocks away from the house I lived in for the first 7 years of my life. It only seemed fitting to take a quick drive on over and see how things had changed in 30 years.

Most of the houses and streets were different as I drove around, but I did find it. The dead end street on other corner was shortened and the woods behind were turned into more houses... but my old house is still there. Even the stop sign I used to pretend was my magic mirror is still on the corner. ;-)

It's strange... but somehow I feel a small bit of weight lifted off me as I drove slowly past it. I'd wondered for years if the house was torn down or painted weird color, so it felt symbolic in a way that despite drastic change... some things have a way of defying the odds.

Okay I had a HUGE wake up call this afternoon when I went to do a DJ trial at an SL dance club. Apparently they specifically want Live Mix DJs (which I wasn't told initially) and that my style of DJing is too "radiolike". Oooookay. Considering I've fashioned my Dance DJ style to sound like a mix.... but wtf ever.

I played for 30 minutes... got told my music was "decent" and that I wasn't a good fit for the club. So much for spending 2 hours picking songs for the trial. Felt like I wasted my time... and wasted the Club Owner's time.

I just want a place where I can play more of my dance style tunes like I could at Lounge of Dreams... but that may be a harder task than I thought.
Not many people understand exactly what Sepia is as a color. I personally think of it as a type of film exposure more than a color, but still it was the shade of the week for Luna's 52 Weeks of Color Challenge. I also saw Sepia as a much darker shade than most folks had in mind, so I may be way off the mark for this one but we'll see.

As I've said before I do read all the other posts to see everyone else's visions of each weekly color. In particular I smiled at Chic Aoen's because she thought of Steampunk with this color. I was gonna do a Steampunk outfit as well but decided not to copy Chic's.

Instead I went for a look that's more gritty and caught between the American Old West and Biker Chick. I also made myself actually buy new items for this one instead of Inventory Diving like I've been able to do for the past 4 weeks. Since I really have very little Brown/Sepia to begin with it was a good excuse to do so anyways.

Sepia-2

Can I just say that the angel wings on the toosh of these League leather pants are hawt no matter what color they are? They also matched so perfectly with these biker boots from Redgrave and corset top from Cupcakes that I could have sworn the creators collaborated on some sub-conscious level.

Sepia-1

I know I said before I would try to stray away from "sexy" outfits for this Challenge, but in this case I will make a drastic exception. It's seductive without being slutty. It's badass yet feminine. It's also probably one of my favorites to date for this. :-)

I'm always amused by all those weird "research studies" that you hear about in the news occasionally. I always wonder if a lot of these researchers have nothing else better to do with their time in-between all the more important studies so they just make up something in order to keep getting paid. I mean... hearing about "Attractive People tend to lead happier lives" or that "Chocolate is actually good for you" were not real shockers, but someone actually got funding to research that. Um.... really?

And most recently there was some findings made that Geeks all around the world have known for decades... that Video Games are actually good to fight stress. WOW! I feel so enlightened. :-P

Well either way... it's an interesting article even if it's no real secret anymore to most of us. Take a peek and see what you think.

Whoever thought that decorating for the holidays in SL would be just as tiresome as doing it IRL? Certainly was for me this year. Sheesh I think I need a nap now.
